Specialist Support Provision
At HPAO, we are delighted to have a Specialist Support Provision, for children with additional learning needs. Typically, these children have a diagnosis of Autisum Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).
There are two classes:
During their time with us, the children are exposed to the full National Curriculum. For English and Maths, the children are taught dependant on their stage of learning, rather than their age. In doing so, we are able to ensure that the teaching has been accurately tailored to individual needs and abilities.
For all other aspects of the National Curriculum, the children follow two, three-year rolling curriculums to ensure they have the opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of a primary curriculum.
