Home Learning

We have listened to the feedback from parents, carers and of course the children.  As a result, we have redesigned home learning to better meet the needs of the children.

Home learning activities should support and consolidate learning in school and are essential to ensure the children make the maximum progress in their learning. Home learning is compulsory and will include a mixture of:

  • Literacy activities which may include phonics, reading, spellings and written tasks
  • Maths activities which may include number facts, number bonds, times tables and written tasks

Reception: Reading

Year 1: Reading, spelling/phonics, tables (2, 5, 10), number bonds to 20, count to and from 100

Year 2: Reading, spellings, tables (2, 3, 4, 5, 10)

Year 3: Reading, spellings, tables (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10) one written activity 15-20 mins.

Year 4: Reading, spelling, tables (all to 12) written activity 15-20mins

Year 5: Reading, spelling, maths written 15-20 minutes, English written 15-20 mins

Year 6: Reading, spelling, maths 20-30 mins written, English 20-30 mins written

In addition to this, we provide families with 'Dip and Do' activities sheets which cover a half-term.  'Dip and Do' activities are focused around the main topic in the classroom.  These optional acitivities include ideas for you to:
